Dave Blinston MIET
Dave is the Director of Alchemy Consultancy Services Limited and his background is in electrical engineering. He is a time served Electrician by trade, and an academically seasoned Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET). He worked as the Technical & Quality Manager at CLM Limited for 6 years where due to the Companies status as the UK market leader for electrical safety compliance he has become a specialist in the field of the IEE Wiring Regulations and associated regulations and legislation.
He has been responsible for developing and delivering various electrical training courses and seminars over recent years and also has extensive experience of working closely with organisations such as the Electrical Safety Council, NHS Estates and UKAS to further develop and improve industry safe / best working standards.
Dave is also an experienced management system professional and is registered as a Lead Auditor of Quality Management Systems with the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA). He also has experience of the ISO 17000 series of standards.
Ewhen Kochan MIET BSc (Hons) LCGI MIfl AMCIBSE
Evan is an experienced education professional in curriculum development and is a Member of the Institute for Learning (MIfl) and a Licentiate of the City and Guilds of London Institute (LCGI). He has worked closely with awarding bodies such as City and Guilds, EDEXCEL, BPEC and CITB. He is a registered Non Domestic Energy Assessor, a longstanding Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (AMCIBSE) and is involved in the research of the sustainability of the built environment and energy saving technologies and their applications through the University of Manchester and BRE.
Evan’s background started on the shop floor in commercial vehicle engineering, moving into the electronics industry, through film, TV and the theatre and into the electrical installation industry and education. He is the owner of an NICEIC approved electrical contracting business and has been the technical consultant for a number of community associations for over twenty five years.
Evan has been responsible for developing and delivering electrical training courses and seminars over the years and worked as the Technical Services and Training Manager for a leading national facilities management company. He has also developed many training packages for industry including electrical, gas, plumbing, electronics and sports related topics. He specialises in theatre lighting, control & sound reinforcement, power quality monitoring & reporting and the IEE Wiring Regulations and associated legislation.
Anthony Jones TechIOSH MIIRSM MRoSPA
Tony is our Health, Safety and Environmental Consultant and has over 40 years experience covering a range including contract management, maintenance management, estimating & tendering, health & safety management and education. He is qualified and registered as a Technician Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (TechIOSH), a Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (MIIRSM) and a Member of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (MRoSPA).
Tony taught health and safety up to and including NEBOSH Diploma level for over twenty years and has, since 1998, acted as a freelance Health, Safety and Environmental Consultant to numerous organisations. He is a registered trainer with several professional bodies including the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and presents a wide range of training courses to industry.
Over recent years Tony has applied particular concentration on health and safety requirements and carries out audits and inspections, the findings from which are then compiled into detailed reports. He writes health & safety policies, sets up safety procedure documentation and introduces methodical safety management systems into businesses as required. He has also prepared and written hundreds of health and safety documents such as risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work for specific needs ranging from small businesses through large electrical and engineering contractors to charitable trusts and community care organisations.
